I really like this place. I've been several times, including it being the destination of a weekend drive from Newmarket. I will definitely go back!
The food is admittedly expensive, but I also think it is very good (the exception being the falafel pita I had once, which is absolutely horrible).

Hands down the best place to grab a bite and a cold one in Midland. Patio right on the water and excellent service as well as Live Entertainment - what's not to love! We have visited many Italian reataurants throughout Ontario from Brockville to Niagara Falls, Oshawa to North Bay and Avanti's in Oshawa is number one. Not because we live here, because of the food, the service, the friendly atmosphere and the cleanliness of this establishment. Their Fusilli in Bianco is our favorite. We have dined there many times before Oshawa Generals Hockey games and Shows at the newly renovated Regent Theatre. And we are so proud to mention Avanti's everywhere we go. They bring out the pride in Oshawa when it comes to dining out.

I held my husband’s 50th birthday party at Jesters on the upper floor and everything was handled perfectly. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the management was so helpful and accommodating for all of my dietary requests, they set up the decorations and everything went perfectly, it was a a fun, fantastic party. I saw this place featured on a food network teaser for a new show. Surprised when I talked to people and they all knew the place!
So I took the 45 minute drive and it was well worth it.
By far the best ribs i have ever had! And again i like places that serve real home cooked food.

I brought my family to the Hyland this week and as always the food was excellent (and too much!) and the service was very friendly. Food is always delivered promptly, the restaurant is always clean, and overall, it is just a nice meal out with the family. I definitely recommend to any families visiting Port Perry. Us locals don't need convincing.

This restaurant is the best for good food and friendly service. The staff are just amazing and don't mind talking to you and always make sure every thing is alright. The food is to die for. It is sooo good, the hard part is figuring out what to order because there is so much really good food. I would suggest to anyone that they dine here. The burgers are more like a steak burger than a regular hamburger. High quality dinning for a resonable price.

Lovely spring day and thought we would stop in on our way back to Toronto for lunch. Excellent prompt service, great food selection and frosted mug for the beer. Small chicken Caesar Salad was perfect size for lunch. Delicious. Would order again. Southwestern burger had delicious toppings. Snow on the lake, but warm, cozy and friendly inside.

Love this place. Fish and Chips the specialty and they are great. But try the pan fried pickerel, oh my! Other menu items good too. We almost always go back to the pickerel.
Staff are fun, rather than formal. If Ken is there, he tries to take a minute to say hello, old or new customers.
