Have been here several times. One of our family's favorite restaurants. The food was great, as always, but last visit, service was a bit slow. My dad had the fish special of the day (can't remember what it was) and he loved it. Good size portions - we always take leftovers home! They even have half servings of the pasta dishes, in case you're not that hungry.

I go there very often with my family. We all love the food. Obviously, Chinese food in Ottawa pales in comparison to what Hong Kong offers but Cafe Orient's food is the best I can find that reminds me of home. The pricing is pretty decent considering one main dish can be shared among 2 people along with a small appetizer.

I went there with a friend/co-worker expecting a little more elegance in terms of ambiance. I was greeted at the host/hostess stand and seated immediatly by the window- I didn't even have to ask.
Our server seemed a little anoyed or inconvinienced however was helpful when asked.
The food was great not amazing but than again I have been told I am a little choosy.
None the less we received our bill before we were asked for dessert which we decided not to have - maybe that was a good idea because we were both full.
Know this isn't really in my nature; but with the food I had this place obviously has potential. My reccomendation is to step it up with the service add some more interesting decor and man this could really be a great restaurant for us business folk in the area to go to.
